25 years of E-World. 25 years of ITVT.

Shaping the future together.

From 10 to 12 February 2026, the energy industry will meet in Essen for E-world energy & water – and celebrate a special anniversary: 25 years of E-world. Since its premiere in 2001, the trade fair has developed from a national trade event into Europe’s central meeting place for the energy industry.

What began with around 230 exhibitors and a good 6,000 trade visitors is now a leading international trade fair where national and international companies present forward-looking technologies, intelligent services and solutions for achieving climate targets. The development of E-World reflects the transformation of the industry itself: from liberalisation and regulation to digitalisation to the integration of renewable energies and new business models for municipal utilities and energy suppliers.

It is no coincidence that this anniversary coincides with 25 years of ITVT. Both stand for a quarter of a century of change, innovation and partnership-based shaping of an increasingly complex energy world.

Last year’s anniversary: ITVT celebrates its 10th participation in E-world.

Transforming the industryfrom regulation to customer focus

Over the past 25 years, energy companies have faced profound changes: new regulatory frameworks, growing competitive pressure, rising customer expectations and the need to make processes efficient, digital and scalable. In particular, municipal utilities, sales organizations and finance and operations units had to learn to deal with increasing market volatility, new revenue models and a much more international orientation.

It is precisely these topics that have been at the core of E-world for years – and make it a relevant meeting place for decision-makers from customer service, customer experience, sales and commercial functions.

E-world 2026: International relevance and current hot topics

E-world 2026 impressively shows how broad and international the industry is today. In 2025, 980 exhibitors from 34 nations presented themselves to around 33,000 trade visitors – companies and visitors from over 70 countries were represented. One in four exhibitors now comes from abroad, a clear sign of the growing international importance of the trade fair.

Trade visitors and exhibitors from all over the world meet in Essen to exchange information on current market developments, new technologies and viable solutions. Thematically, the spectrum ranges from smart energy, digitalization and new energy systems to decarbonization and climate solutions to financial, trading and sales models for a climate-neutral future.

The exhibition is complemented by a diverse supporting programme at four open specialist forums, which offers numerous impulses, practical insights and new perspectives. In addition, the E-World Community enables year-round exchange and sustainable networking within the industry – far beyond the days of the trade fair.

For whom the visit is worthwhile

For customer service managers, CX managers, sales managers as well as finance and operations managers, E-world 2026 offers a compact overview of relevant trends, concrete solutions and valuable contacts. It is the place where strategic questions meet operational answers – and where it is decided how the future of energy will be shaped.

25 years of E-world and 25 years of ITVT stand for shared experience, a deep understanding of the industry and a look ahead. E-world 2026 is more than a trade fair – it is a mirror of the energy industry in transition and an invitation to actively shape the future together.
